Roger Hill
Roger Hill has been a storm chaser for nearly 20 years, and today is one of America’s premier storm chasers. Over his lifetime, he has seen 288 tornadoes and is currently validating a world record for the number of tornadoes caught on video in a single season (2004). Hill’s videos have been aired on every major television network in the United States, as well as National Geographic, The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, NOVA, IMAX, BBC, 60 Minutes, and numerous television commercials.
He has appeared on numerous television specials, including: NOVA’s “Hunt for the Super Twister,” National Geographic’s “Twister Chasers” and “Twister Tours,” The Weather Channel’s “Storm Stories,” several Discovery Network severe weather specials, and “60 Minutes,” which did a special on Hill’s commercial storm-chasing tours. He has also been the subject of many newspaper and magazine articles across the country. Hill is co-owner of Silver Lining Tours, considered the leading storm-chasing tour operator in the United States.
He is also the organizer of the National Storm Chasers Convention, which is held every year in Denver, CO. Hill has also been a probe driver for various National Severe Storms Laboratory projects and teaches SKYWARN training at several locations across the Plains. Finally, traditionally known for chasing tornadoes, Hill has been in the eye of many recent famous and devastating hurricanes, including Katrina, Rita, Charley, Jeanne, and Ivan.
